The gluten free menu can be found online (Dave & Busters... page 10). There aren't too many options, but there are still options! I ordered the Sweet Apple Pecan Salad with Grilled Chicken. I should probably mention I went to the Dave & Busters in Henrietta, NY.
It was really weird when they brought my food out. I appreciated they brought it out separately from the rest of my family's meals, with a cover and everything. What confused me was when the manager came out and proceeded to tell me they weren't sure if the pecans on the salad were gluten free. They were coated in something and they couldn't find the ingredients anywhere. He asked if I wanted to take the risk, or have them make me something else. There are a few problems with this situation... 1) Why would you bring out a meal for someone asking for gluten free with something questionable on it? 2) Why would I "risk it"? 3) Why would you wait to give me this information until the rest of my family got their food and are eating? So we came to the simple decision to make the salad again, but leave the pecans off (like they should have done in the first place). Other than this whole situation, the salad was good. It was fruity and filling. I don't know if I would go back to eat here, but the arcade was fun. **Side note- I dominated the arcade and went home with a wonder woman mug.

At Eastview Mall in Victor, NY you can find Colie's Café & Eatery. Here you can get smoothies, wraps, soups, and coffee. I got the gluten free "turkey avocado wrap". I love it so much, I get this wrap every time I go. I like to get a side of chips and salsa, but they also have a few other options. I also really enjoy the tomato soup! This time around I ordered the peanut butter chocolate espresso smoothie and regretted it unfortunately. My mother and I do not recommend ordering the smoothie. Everything else was great though!
At Colie's you must be careful to get a wrap with gluten free contents. They have gluten free wraps and the workers will tell you they can make any wrap for you and replace it with the gluten free wrap. This is incorrect, some wraps (like the Buffalo Chicken Wrap) contain gluten. Make sure you double check, and that you also address that you have an allergy. **Side note: You can order online and have it delivered or pick it up! (That's what I did and got this cute little picture and had to share) STARBUCKS (AGAIN): I got an iced chai latte this morning, yet another good choice. Also, excuse my face... I was getting sick of my mother taking pictures so I made my go to uncomfortable face (my friends are very familiar with this one). Enjoy. WHOLE FOODS: We stopped at the buffet style breakfast bar and paid by weight. I got some turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, and potatoes. All the food had ingredients labeled!! *Side note- I am so sorry I forgot to take a picture! I'm new at this :P RANDOM ICE CREAM CART: I thought it was worth mentioning that I purchased this. It was perfect for walking around Central Park dying of heat. Although, it did start to drip all over me at the end and I was in full panic mode until I found a garbage can. #WORTHIT BABYCAKES: Oh. My. Gosh. I was in heaven. Everything in the store was gluten free and vegan, and tasted like heaven. This little bakery is a place you must stop if you're in NYC. I purchased a GF éclair. Yes, a GF éclair. You read that correctly. It was also my first one I have ever eaten. It was amazing, not that I have the real thing to compare it to. Also purchased was a "cookie sammie" with chocolate chip cookies and mint frosting. It is their version of a big home made oreo I guess you could say. We also got an Aloha donut, a banana and blueberry cupcake, a red velvet cupcake, and lemon pound cake. All of the things I bought were very, very good. My favorites were the cookie sammie and the éclair. If you go to their shop I would recommend getting something that isn't a cupcake. I don't think their cupcakes are their best products. I wasn't able to get pictures of them all, but I got a lot of them. *insert heart eyes here* OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE:
On our way home to Rochester we stopped here for dinner. They have a decent sized menu here, and it includes a dessert! I got the baby back ribs and French fries. Although the fries are not on the menu, they explained to us they do use a separate fryer and the fries are not coated in anything that would make them not gluten free. So... if you ever go to an Outback Steakhouse, ask about their fries, because they might just be GF! Once again, I forgot to take a picture of my food. I did get the menu, though! I think I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture and went straight for the food. Sorry! STARBUCKS: Green tea Frappuccino, unsweetened. Always a good go to for me and I thought it was worth mentioning. FLUFFY'S CAFE & PIZZERIA: They have many options here including GF pizza, bagels, pancakes, French toast, toast, and eggs. One concern is the fact that they do cross contaminate. I had to make sure what I was ordering was really gluten free, and not hipster gluten free. With that being said, the bagels and toast are contaminated. I got the gluten free banana and caramel French toast, which we figured out was actually gluten free. The bread they use is good, and the banana & caramel option was a good choice on my part. All in all, it was dumb we had to worry about cross contamination, and we didn't go back. There is not any lunch to share, the breakfast kept us all filled for awhile! We also went to see Jersey Boys on Broadway at 2:00pm and didn't get out until dinner time. *Side note- Jersey Boys is an amazing musical and if you have not seen it, put it at the top of your list immediately. If you listen to Jersey Boys now or not, you will still love it. CIELO AT THE MAYFAIR: I found this hidden gem on the "Find me Gluten Free" app. The staff was pretty educated on gluten free and knew how to make most menu items, besides pizza, gluten free. They even had gluten free penne to substitute in any pasta dish. I got the Spaghetti Alla Carbonara. The food was delicious! I definitely recommend this restaurant. The interior is also so beautiful and quiet. Sorry about the poor quality of my pictures for this one, the restaurant was too dark for my camera to focus well. NEW YORK ICE CREAM:
I was really craving ice cream so I forced my family to stop anywhere for some. This was a simple little ice cream truck parked on a street corner, and the same type of truck was found very easily on many corners. Shout out to the worker that made my ice cream for being so helpful! He let us read all of the ingredients of the ice cream, the sprinkles, and the cherry dip. Needless to say, I enjoyed my ice cream. CHEESEBURGER IN PARADISE: I ordered a gluten free Guacamole Bacon Burger with French fries. It came with a gluten free bun which was pretty exciting too! The whole trip up to NYC, I was bursting with excitement to eat at this restaurant. The food is so good here, and the menu is decent sized. YANKEE STADIUM:
At the stadium, I believe there are two GF stands, but I only was able to find one. I didn't look on the third level, though. On the first level there was a stand called GLUTEN FREE NY GRILL. It was a limited menu, but I was still grateful it was there! Some options included a hot dog and a turkey sandwich. I got the hotdog, because when in Rome... The hotdog came with a bun and also had a bag of chips on the side. It was actually pretty good! And I was thrilled to be able to eat a hotdog on a bun at a baseball game. *Side note- the bun didn't fall apart while I was eating the hotdog!!! #celiacwin **Side note- the game was amazing to watch and the Yankees won 4-0 to the Detroit Tigers |
