Sorry this is a day late, it's been crazy! I'm currently sitting in a car on my way to my boyfriends house and figured it would be a good time to catch up.
Anyways, I wanted to do something a little different than usual to get into the holiday spirit of Thanksgiving. I wanted to share with you all what I am thankful for. I am going to do 4 things because 4 is my favorite number. Here we go: 1. I am thankful for my friends and my family. Through the years I have had friends that come and go, and I've had friends that weren't friends I learned, but I've also had friends that have stuck through it all. They are always by my side even when I mess up. They are there for me when I'm crying and have a problem even at 2 am when they're sleeping. I have found a handful of good friends and I am so thankful for them. I need to remember to not take them for granted when one let's me down. Going along with that, my family is always there. They do so much for me and I can never thank them enough. They all have special qualities about them that make them unique and I love them all. I don't know where I would be without my family. (This includes my pets) 2. My education. I think often about how in many countries, this isn't an option for them. Many girls don't get to even go to high school and I was lucky enough to go to college. I'm getting an amazing education from fantastic professors and I am thankful for this. I know to never take it for granted, even if I complain about school, I know that this is an amazing privilege. 3. Having a roof over my head and food on the table. Like number 2, many people aren't fortunate enough to have these things. I'm lucky enough to be able to go to sleep in a cozy bed with a roof and I am thankful for this. I am also able to eat three meals a day, and I am so fortunate and thankful to have the means to do that. 4. Music. Music is what pushes me to do better and keep going. I'm studying music in school because I know music is one of the few things that I can understand. I work hard for music and I am thankful that I am able to study music and continue reaching my personal goals. I am thankful I have music in my life every day and I never take that for granted. Music is a huge part of my life and without it I have no clue where I would be right now. So there are 4 things I am thankful for! Leave what you're thankful for in the comments! Thanks for reading :) -Sabrina

I've been super busy and just wanted to do a blog to just talk to you guys and update you on my life!
So I have been living in Beeson, an apartment building, at Roberts Wesleyan College since about May or June. Living here has been such a different experience. Personally, it mad being at this college a lot better. Here, I have my own kitchen, a living room, a bathroom, and two bedrooms. I live with two other roommates, who are in the picture below! So, because I have my own kitchen to cook gluten free food, I did not have to have a meal plan- which is awesome. This means I make all of my own meals, which is difficult some days, and really nice most days. My eating schedule usually looks like this: 7:55- *running late to class to my 8 am* I'll grab a "Whenever Bar" made by Pamela's (I like the Oat Chocolate Chip Coconut ones). *If not running super late* I'll either grab a bowl of cereal if we have milk, grab a bowl of yogurt & fruit if I have yogurt & fruit, or I'll make a Bob's Red Mill microwavable oatmeal cup and bring it to class. 11:00- *Skipping chapel because I never have time to go* I'll swing back to my apartment and eat leftovers or a turkey sandwich or wrap 6:00 or later- I'll finally be done with classes with an exception to Tuesday and Wednesday nights when I have clarinet lessons. At this time I will either make a Sunbasket meal (I talk about this in the "Living @ College" tab), or I will make something easy like macaroni and cheese, pasta of some sort, chicken nuggets, etc. This is mainly what I eat in a day! In between all of this I am usually running from class to class because I don't really have a break, and if I do I go to work in that time. I'm super busy at college, and this is what I am used to. When people ask if I'm overwhelmed, I usually say no. I am taking 12 classes and have a part time job, and a dog, and make my own meals, but my whole life I've always been on the run. If I'm just sitting around doing nothing I actually get up to figure out something I can do- and usually clean... or sleep. If you are someone with celiac or gluten intolerance going into college, please feel free to email me any questions (contact tab) you might have or if you need any help getting along. I am always here :) Thanks for reading! |
